A staff developer shared with me that she has worked at several large hospitals in the Chicago area and all of these hospitals had online learning that employees were required to complete on an annual basis.  She has previewed most of the Upstairs Courses and said that the Upstairs Courses are much better than any online courses that she has ever completed.  She was very complimentary of the design of the courses and of our ability to make them available to all staff.  It's exciting to see the online courses in use and to hear affirmation that the courses are well designed and appreciated by staff developers and employees.

After several months of due-diligence research, Upstairs Solutions became the top candidate to provide an on-line education program for our organization. The course offerings were of high quality, the computer requirements were compatible with our organization’s computer system, and the cost was reasonable when compared with the cost for doing internal classroom courses (and when compared with other on-line course services).

I must say that from my perspective, the Upstairs Solutions courses have been a rousing success for compliance purposes. Our current completion rate for the eight courses ranges from 89% to 99.5%. I am pushing to achieve a 100% completion rate by the end of the week. This completion rate is a far cry from the 35% attendance rate that we had with the classroom courses that we did last year. The instant availability of management reports through the Upstairs Solutions database significantly improves management of the course work and decreases recordkeeping time.  Also, employees gain control of their learning opportunities and develop pride in their accomplishments, whether it learning basic computer use or completing all the required work before the deadlines.

We completed our first month requiring the completion of one mandatory course.  We had 98 - 99% compliance – AMAZING! I was really surprised at how well received the whole program & concept was. Upstairs Solutions is extremely easy to use, even for first time computer users, but it is also fun and engaging which makes learning enjoyable. Since the modules are geared toward Long Term Care, all the material is relevant and pertinent to our staff.  Staff love the interactive games and quizzes which help them to be more successful on the post tests and management raves about the reporting and tracking capabilities.

- I am definitely saving money on overtime because I can see people are not clocking in early or late to attend an inservice.
